Double Canyon’s Kate Michaud Selected to Chair Scholarship Committee
Michaud is the winemaker for Double Canyon located in West Richland and has served on the Scholarship Committee for three years.
Michaud takes over from Casey McClellan of Seven Hills Winery who served as chair for over a decade who stepped down last month. Vicky Scharlau, Executive Director of the Foundation said, “Casey is an asset to the Washington wine industry. The Foundation Board and staff thank him immensely for his dedication to the industry through the scholarship program.”
Michaud began her career in the cellar at Bonny Doon Vineyard in Santa Cruz which began her journey into wine with stints in the Margaret River region of Western Australia, back to Santa Cruz at David Bruce Winery then to Canoe Ridge Vineyard in Walla Walla and back to the southern hemisphere at Kim Crawford Winery in New Zealand. Shortly after, she returned to Washington’s Covey Run, spent time consulting and then landed the Double Canyon position with Crimson Wine Group.
