The Washington Wine Industry Foundation is a network of individuals who are passionate about the growth of the Washington wine industry. We listen, we understand, and we bring partners together to craft sustainable solutions for challenges facing the industry.
The Alliance of Women in Washington Wine supports our vision of a thriving industry. In 2021, the organization established the Alliance of Women in Washington Wine Scholarship through the Foundation, to inspire, connect, and advance the future female workforce of the wine industry. One $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to a female student with a major in viticulture, enology, wine business, or related program.
Starting with a collaborative effort on this new scholarship, this partnership continues to bloom into impactful relationships.
In November, 2021, Foundation staff attended the Alliance’s Post Harvest Party in Woodinville and got to know this talented group of individuals.
“Coming together as a group, elevating each other, and helping mentor young women into the industry are what we are all about,” shared Kristin Scheelar, an Alliance board member.
Once again, we had a blast at the Alliance’s Outreach Event during WineVit™ in Kennewick in February, 2022. Hearing their inspirational stories and sharing our efforts to support the industry over some great local beer and pizza is definitely the definition of a memorable night.
