Dear Washington Wine Industry Friend;
Whether you are a wine grape grower, winemaker, loyal Washington wine drinker, service or supply provider, we all share a common interest in ensuring the continued well-being of the Washington wine industry. Our industry has grown from a tiny little wine region to a major producer of high quality wines, recognized around the world.
For over a dozen years the Foundation has served as the industry’s nonprofit to help support the growing needs of our growing industry. Today, WWIF’s mission is simple: strengthen the future of the Washington wine industry by advancing research, education, and leadership.
To help fulfill this mission:
· WWIF is home to scholarships and emerging funds focused on education opportunities for students. Some of these funds include those that honor Walter J. Clore, John Farmer, Horse Heaven Hills Wine Growers, George and Susan Carter, and S.W. (Bill) Preston, Charles Lill, and Glenn Coogan.
· WWIF has taken the lead in writing and administering grants for Vinewise®, Winerywise™, and a Clean Plant Campaign. Just this month, WWIF submitted a $52,500 pre-proposal to the Western Center for Risk Management Education to update Vinewise® and renew outreach efforts and a $443,510 request to USDA APHIS for outreach materials and a harmonized certification program between Washington, Oregon, and Idaho and the start of a plant source identification program.
· WWIF has been developing programs that focus on training the industry’s “next generation.”
Generous support, from people like you has made possible the growth of WWIF’s scholarships and funds and the effort necessary to award and administer them, manage grants, and develop educational and leadership programs.
We’ve only just begun to realize our potential. Let’s continue to advance research, education, and leadership!

Thank you!
